As King David's greater Son, Jesus was born King. He was the rightful heir to the throne of Israel. He alone fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament writers who foretold His glorious birth. However, this One who was born King would soon wear a very different crown – a crown of thorns – as He willingly gave His life to be our Savior from sin. But the story does not end there. Three days later Jesus gloriously arose. And one day soon He will return in triumph to sit upon the throne of David – this time to wear a crown of victory as King of kings and Lord of lords.
