A distinction between the geographical ancient city of Babylon and “Babylon, the Mother of Harlots” (the worldwide counterfeit religious system) must be maintained. The end-time prophecy of the destruction of Babylon with the pouring out of the 7th bowl is speaking of the destruction of the Babylonian system (all false religion), not simply the ancient city of Babylon.
